Teresa

Instructor Teresa

Training in Circus Arts for over a decade and teaching for six years now, Teresa is a dedicated practitioner and loves to share her passion for circus performance with both kids and adults. Her favourite disciplines are trapeze, partner acro, doubles aerials and handbalancing and she teaches a broad range of circus skills to our littlest Circotica members. Writing, directing and producing circus shows is her developing obsession.

Emma

Instructor Emma, framed by a hula hoop.

Emma has been hula hooping for 8 years and loves how it puts a smile on people's faces. As a teacher she embraces fun, and enjoys seeing how happy people are when they nail new, challenging tricks! Other than twirling hula hoops Emma is often found dreaming of unicorns or making balloon animals.

Calvin

Calvin is a seasoned circus performer and instructor with over a decade of experience in the circus world! With a focus on juggling and rola-bola, Calvin has honed their skills and developed a unique approach to teaching these disciplines. Calvin's expertise and passion for circus will inspire and challenge you to reach new heights.

Josh

Instructor Josh

Josh discovered circus in 2017, and with his background in classical and contemporary dance he easily marries beautiful movement both on and off the apparatus. He specializes in trapeze, is a group fitness instructor & his quirky sense-of-humour wins over everybody!

Vale

Instructor Valentina

Vale is our aerial specialist from Italy. She began her acrobatic journey in synchronised swimming & started circus in 2010, focusing on silks and rope. 
She is very passionate about “social circus” and has collaborated in different projects in remote areas around the world.

Violet

Violet has been practicing aerials since 2015, she began instructing in 2019. Violet is also a long time people stacker, starting in 2012 with Cheerleading before converting to Acro in 2018. Outside of Circus she is a Sports Scientist which comes through in her passion for breaking down skills, so they can be as accessible as possible for every body.

Maddi

Maddi started circus at 5 years old in 2010 and started training at Circotica in 2016. After retiring from competitive figure skating she began instructing in 2024. She picks up a new circus thing just about every other week but specialises in contortion and silks.

Instructor Freya

Freya

Freya completed her Bachelor of Arts Degree with Honours in Contemporary Circus and Physical Theatre at Circomedia, Bristol, UK in 2019 and has since travelled across the world and made Canterbury, NZ her home. With 10 years worth of experience training in the circus arts and specialising in partner acrobatics, she is eager to share her knowledge and skills.

Kate

The big kid from Blenheim who grew up swinging around on Christchurch playgrounds. Expert aerialist Kate adores her dragon-ninja child, and has a passion for training and teaching Aerial Silks.
